[Source] Medicinal material source: The fruit of the dicotyledonous plant blue leaf vine of the Apocynaceae family.

[Original morphology] 1. Up to 5m long, leaves are opposite; petiole is 1.5-3.5cm long, with small glands clustered at the top; leaf blade is long ovate-oblong, 5-12mc long, 2-5cm wide, gradually pointed at the apex, nearly cordate at the base, blue when ripe or dry; lateral veins are 5-7 pairs, obliquely ascending, and united near the leaf margin. The panicles are nearly axillary; the peduncle is 2.5-5cm long and pubescent; there are 5 or more small glands on the inner surface of the calyx base; the corolla is yellow-white, blue-black when dry; the corolla is simply bell-shaped, with 5 tufts of hairs growing together with the corolla lobes, and the throat has brush-like hairs; the corona is composed of 5 oblong lobes; there is one pollinia in each locule, which is narrow and oblong and erect. The follicles are simple-lanceolate, swollen at the base, up to 10 cm long, about 1 cm in diameter, and covered with pubescence. The seeds are ovate, up to 1 cm long, with yellow silky hairs about 2 cm long at the tip. Flowering period is March to May, and fruiting period is August to December.
