Here I recommend a very popular Chinese medicinal material, realgar. 【English name】REALGAR [Other names] Ming realgar, golden stone, stone yellow [Source] This product is a sulfide mineral realgar , mainly containing arsenic disulfide (As2S2). After mining, remove impurities. Or concentrate powder produced by flotation of low-grade ore. [Properties] This product is in the form of blocks or granules, in irregular blocks. Deep red or orange-red, with light orange-red streaks, and the crystal surface has a diamond-like luster. It is brittle and easily broken, and the cross section has a resinous luster. It has a slight peculiar odor and a light taste. The concentrate powder is in powder form or a powder aggregate, is crispy, turns into powder by hand, is orange-yellow in color, and has no luster. [Identification] (1) Take 10 mg of the powder of this product, moisten it with water, add 2 ml of saturated nitric acid solution of potassium chlorate, and after dissolving, add barium chloride test solution to generate a large amount of white precipitate. After standing, pour out the upper acid solution, add 2 ml of water, shake, and the precipitate does not dissolve. [Content Determination] Take about 0.1g of the powder of this product, weigh it accurately, put it in a 250ml conical flask, add 1g of potassium sulfate, 2g of ammonium sulfate and 8ml of sulfuric acid, heat with direct fire until the solution is clear, cool, slowly add 50ml of water, heat to a slight boil for 3-5 minutes, cool, add 2 drops of phenolphthalein indicator solution, neutralize with sodium hydroxide solution (40→100) until it is slightly red, cool, neutralize with 0.25mol/L sulfuric acid solution until it fades, add 5g of sodium bicarbonate, shake well, and titrate with iodine titrant (0.1mol/L). When it is close to the end point, add 2ml of starch indicator solution and titrate until the solution is purple-blue. Every 1ml of iodine titrant (0.1mol/L) is equivalent to 5.348mg of arsenic disulfide (As2S2). [Preparation] Realgar powder: Grind realgar according to the water grinding method (Appendix Ⅱ D) and dry it. Take an appropriate amount of powder and inspect it according to the method under the above-mentioned arsenic trioxide inspection item. It should comply with the regulations. 【Nature and flavor】Pungent, warm; toxic. [return through meridians] return the liver and large intestine meridians. 【Functions and indications】Detoxification and insecticidal, drying dampness and removing phlegm, and preventing malaria. Used for carbuncles, furuncles, snake and insect bites, abdominal pain caused by worm accumulation, epilepsy, and malaria. [Usage and Dosage] 0.05-0.1g, for use in pills or powders.
