【Original form】 Shrub, 1-3m high. There are no branches except for the special lateral flower branches. Leaves are alternate; petioles are 0.8-1.5cm long, with grooves and narrow wings; leaf blades are hard and papery, slightly thick, elliptic-lanceolate or oblanceolate, 9-12cm long, 2.5-4cm wide, with acute or acuminate apex, cuneate base, margins usually with distinct crenates, with marginal glandular dots between teeth, or nearly entire, midrib raised on the back, with sparse and inconspicuous glandular dots near margin; 12-15 pairs of lateral veins, connected into inconspicuous marginal veins. The inflorescence is a compound umbel or a panicle composed of cymes, borne on the top of lateral special branches, the branches are 30-50cm long, the apex is often bent downward, all with scattered leaves, rarely with leaves only above the middle; the pedicel is 1-2cm long; the sepals are ovate or oblong-ovate, with acute or obtuse apex, about 2.5mm long; the petals are pink, rarely red or white, broadly ovate, rarely with fine pubescence at the base inside; the stamens are slightly shorter than the petals, the anthers are lanceolate or ovate, with acute apex and no glandular dots; the pistil is the same length as the petals. The fruit is spherical, 8-10mm in diameter, dark red, with obvious glandular dots.
