【Nature and flavor】 Slightly bitter, astringent, neutral.

【Functions and indications】 Clears away heat and detoxifies, promotes diuresis and reduces swelling. Used for pyelonephritis, cystitis, chronic nephritis, enteritis, dysentery, and snake bites; used externally to treat carbuncles, furuncles, and suppurative otitis media.

[Usage and Dosage] 0.5-1 liang; for external use, mash the fresh leaves and apply to the affected area or use the liquid to drip into the ear.
