[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of Stingingwort of the Urticaceae family.

[Original form] Subshrub, about 50cm high. Stem branched, glabrous, densely stalactitated. Leaves are alternate; petiole is 2-6mm long; leaf blade is papery, obliquely elliptic, 7-13cm long, 3-6cm wide, with pointed tip, small teeth at the tip, narrowly cuneate base, small teeth at the edge, glabrous above, with short procumbent hairs along the veins below, with obvious stalactites, densely growing; semi-free tri-veined. Dioecious; female inflorescences clustered in about 4, with stalks about 2.5 cm long; receptacle diameter about 3 mm, with densely packed flowers and numerous bracts; bracteoles spoon-shaped linear, about 1 mm long, with hairs on the upper part. Achenes are oval with 10 longitudinal ribs. Flowering period is June.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown in valleys and gullies at an altitude of about 2000m or in the shade and wet places under forests.

【Functions and indications】 Clears heat and cools the liver; moistens the lungs and relieves cough; reduces swelling and relieves pain. Mainly used for hepatitis, cough, bruises and swellings

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoction, 10-30g. For external use: take appropriate amount and mash fresh product for application.
