What are the effects and functions of Gecko?

Gecko is a common medicine for treating diseases. Its use can improve various problems of the human body. Therefore, when choosing it, you also need to understand it. What are the effects and functions of gecko?

The efficacy and function of gecko :

1. Estrogenic effect: Gecko ethanol extract can prolong the estrus period of normal female mice, and can induce estrus in ovariectomized mice; and increase the weight of the uterus and ovaries (normal mice). Gecko ethanol extract (GEA) mainly has a direct effect on the genitals (uterus and vagina) of female rats, but its complete effect must be through the ovary, pituitary gland and hypothalamus. The alcohol extracts of gecko body and tail can increase the weight of the uterus and ovaries of young female mice, and the weight-increasing effect of gecko tail is stronger than that of gecko body. When the body and tail are compared with the courtship factor respectively, the weight-increasing effect of the tail exceeds that of the courtship factor, while the weight-increasing effect of the body is close to that of the courtship factor. The alcohol extracts of gecko body and tail can advance the time of vaginal opening in young female mice, and the time of gecko tail group is earlier than that of gecko body group.

2. Androgen-like effect: Taking the weight of mouse prostate, seminal vesicle and levator ani muscle as indicators, the ethanol extract of Gecko exhibits androgen-like effect. The alcohol extracts of the body and tail of gecko can increase the weight of the seminal vesicles and prostate of castrated male rats; the weight-increasing effect of the tail is stronger than that of the body, but not as strong as testosterone; the alcohol extract of gecko can shorten the mating latency period of male fruit flies and prolong the mating time. The water-soluble part of the alcohol extract of gecko can only increase the weight of the testicles of male mice, showing an androgen-like effect, while the fat-soluble part can increase the weight of the uterus of female mice and the testicles of male mice.

Through the above introduction, we have some understanding of the effects and functions of Gecko. Therefore, when choosing it, we must also be careful not to use it casually, otherwise it will cause great harm to human health. Moreover, such medicines cannot be used casually. They must be used according to the doctor's advice so that the disease can be well treated.
