Chinese medicine for rheumatism

Rheumatism is prone to occur in rainy and humid weather, with symptoms such as sore and swollen joints and fever, and can develop into multiple joints. Patients sometimes cannot bear weight, have difficulty walking, and their legs and feet are easily numb, seriously affecting daily life and sleep. In the later stages, it can cause joint deformities and various complications, and may even lead to paralysis and limited mobility. Therefore, if you have rheumatism, you must treat it early. Modern Chinese medicine can improve the symptoms of rheumatic diseases by removing dampness and toxins from the body, reducing inflammation and bacteria, regulating the body, and improving the body's immunity, thereby improving the quality of life of patients.

Dioscorea ovata is the rhizome of the Dioscorea ovata plant of the Dioscoreaceae family. It tastes bitter and is neutral in nature. It enters the lung, liver, and spleen meridians. It has many aliases, including Dioscorea ovata, Dioscorea ovata, Dioscorea ovata, and Diamond Bone. "Chinese Materia Medica" records that its main effects are dispelling wind and dampness, promoting blood circulation and unblocking meridians, relieving cough and asthma. It is mainly used to treat rheumatic pain, limb numbness, chest pain, heart pain, chronic bronchitis, traumatic injuries, carbuncles, etc. This product has been collected from the folk in the past 30 years and has been gradually widely used. It has been reported that the efficacy of using Rhizoma Dioscoreae injection to treat rheumatism and rheumatoid arthritis is as high as 89%. To achieve better therapeutic effects, the dosage of this product should be 40-50 grams. Dosage below 30 grams will often have no effect. Because of its neutral nature, it can be used regardless of cold, heat, deficiency or excess.

Euonymus japonicus is also known as Euonymus japonicus. According to Shennong's Herbal Classic, it tastes bitter, is cold in nature, and is good at entering the blood. It can clear blood and dredge meridians, detoxify and reduce swelling, and relieve numbness and pain. It is said that it "can eliminate evil, kill ghosts and poisons," pointing out that it can treat many difficult and complicated symptoms caused by blood stasis and obstruction of meridians. Therefore, it can be applied to autoimmune connective tissue diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus erythematosus, Sjögren's syndrome, scleroderma, Behcet's syndrome and other diseases. The dosage is generally about 15 grams, and those with a strong body can use up to 30 grams. Some books, such as "Zhejiang Folk Commonly Used Herbs", use it to treat rheumatism, and the dosage can be up to 60-90 grams. However, it is not suitable for people with qi and blood deficiency, or bleeding tendency, as well as women with heavy menstruation and those who are pregnant.

Rheumatism is recurrent and migratory, so you must pay attention to protection during treatment and correct some bad habits in daily life. For example, don't wear shorts or short sleeves on rainy days in summer, try to reduce going out on rainy days, and don't let the temperature in the air-conditioned room be too low to avoid one part of the body being blown by the electric fan. When the weather is good, go out to bask in the sun more often, exercise actively, and avoid eating raw, cold, and irritating foods to protect your gastrointestinal health.
