Alpinia oxyphylla is a Chinese herbal medicine with a very long history. We can see relevant records about it in "Compendium of Materia Medica". The appearance of this herb is similar to peanuts. It is mainly distributed in Guangdong Province of my country. It is very convenient to buy. Now many people have the habit of drinking Alpinia oxyphylla in water. What is the use of doing this? Let’s take a look at the relevant introduction. 1. Treatment of spleen deficiency The saliva flows naturally, the texture is clear and thin. 9 grams each of Alpinia oxyphylla, Atractylodes macrocephala, Codonopsis pilosula, Poria cocos, and 6 grams of dried tangerine peel. Take it in decoction, 1 dose per day. 2. Strengthen the kidneys For enuresis due to kidney deficiency and frequent urination, take equal parts of Alpinia oxyphylla and Linderae strychnifolia. Grind into fine powder, boil the yam with wine until it becomes a paste, and make pills as big as sycamore seeds. Take 9 grams each time, with light salt soup or rice drink, 3 times a day. Or stir-fry 60 grams each of Alpinia oxyphylla and Psoralea corylifolia with salt. Grind into fine powder, divide into 6 packets, take 1 packet every morning with rice soup (double the amount for adults), 6 days as a course of treatment. 3. Treat body cold Deficiency of spleen and kidney, diarrhea at dawn: 10 grams each of Alpinia oxyphylla, Psoralea corylifolia and Nutmeg. Decoction in water, 1 dose per day, to warm the kidney and spleen and stop diarrhea. 4. Chemical Identification Thin layer chromatography: Take an appropriate amount of this product, crush it, add water and distill it. The extracted volatile oil is dehydrated with anhydrous sodium sulfate and spotted on a silica gel G thin layer plate. Camphor and 1,8-cineole are used as reference substances. Petroleum ether-ethyl acetate (85:15) is used for development and 10% phosphomolybdic acid ethanol solution is used for color development. The sample liquid chromatogram has the same spots at the corresponding positions of the reference substance chromatogram. The best ones are big, full and have a strong smell. Although Alpinia oxyphylla has many functions, this Chinese herbal medicine is inherently very hot-tempered, so it is not suitable for those who already have excessive hot tempers. For example, patients with symptoms such as nocturnal emission and frequent urination should not take this kind of herbal medicine. In addition, it can also play a role in strengthening memory, so it has certain benefits for children who study. |
