What are the side effects of Poria cocos?

Poria cocos is generally used as a traditional Chinese medicine. It can promote blood circulation, remove blood stasis, and relieve inflammation and pain. For women, it can also better treat some gynecological diseases. Therefore, many people now come into contact with Poria cocos in life. However, some people are worried and afraid that using these drugs will cause other adverse effects and harm to their health. So let me introduce to you whether Poria cocos has any side effects.

Guizhi Fuling Wan Composition Guizhi: Fuling, Peony (core removed), Peach Kernel (peeled, tip removed, boiled), Peony Root; each in equal parts

Usage: Grind the above five herbs into fine powder, sieve and mix evenly, add 90-110g refined honey to every 100g, and make large honey pills as big as rabbit droppings. Take 1 pill on an empty stomach, and increase to 3 pills if you don't know.

Efficacy: Activate blood circulation and dissolve blood stasis, slowly dissolve lumps. Indications: Women with chronic diseases, menstruation has not stopped for three months, and there is continuous bleeding, fetal movement above the navel; menstrual difficulties; abdominal distension and pain after menstruation; difficult labor; fetal death in the abdomen; retained placenta; postpartum lochia that has not been completely discharged and abdominal pain that refuses to be pressed.

Guizhi Fuling Pills have very few side effects. In a few cases, stomach discomfort may occur, which is mainly caused by cinnamaldehyde, the main active ingredient of Guizhi Fuling Pills. Therefore, it is recommended that you take Guizhi Fuling Pills half an hour after a meal to reduce stomach irritation. Patients with gastric ulcers and excessive gastric acid should use it with caution. If you still cannot adapt, you can try taking it with honey water. This medicine is contraindicated in pregnant women.

Generally speaking, if Poria cocos is used correctly and according to one's physical condition, it will not have any side effects. Instead, it can serve as a good remedy to help us treat and solve diseases. However, for patients with some stomach problems, such as gastric ulcers or excessive stomach acid, it is not suitable to use Poria cocos.
