[Source] Medicinal material source: The root of Aconitum carmichaelii, a plant of the Ranunculaceae family.

[Original form] Deeply cracked yellow aconite, perennial herb. The tuber is oval or carrot-shaped. The stem is slender, twining and branched. Leaves are alternate; petiole is nearly as long as leaf blade; leaf blade is hard, papery, pentagonal, 5-10cm long, 8-15.5cm wide, base is broadly cordate, 3-partite, sometimes not reaching the base, lobes are further 2-3 times deeply lobed, the last lobe is narrowly spherical or lanceolate-linear, and the surface is sparsely covered with short, closely attached soft hairs. The racemes are axillary, with 3-6 flowers, the axis and pedicel are densely covered with short soft hairs, and there are two linear bracteoles in the middle of the pedicel; there are 5 sepals, petal-shaped, purple-blue, and the upper sepal is high helmet-shaped; there are 2 petals, hidden in the helmet, glabrous, and the spur is bent backwards; there are many stamens, glabrous, and the filaments are entire or have 2 small teeth; there are 5 carpels. Follicles not curved, glabrous. The seeds are triangular, with densely covered membranous wings on only one side. The flowering period is from August to October, and the fruiting period is from September to October.
