Prepare a useful inquiry
State the intended use, required specification, destination market, order quantity and target date. Separate mandatory requirements from preferences. Request a written quotation and sample process. Keep identity, inspection and payment checks separate from browsing the catalog.
Turn requirements into an accepted sample
Describe materials, dimensions, tolerances, finish, packaging and labeling using a versioned specification. Agree who pays for samples, tooling and revisions. Keep an approved reference and record any permitted differences between a sample and production. Passing one sample does not prove consistency across a production batch; define an inspection plan appropriate to the risk.
Compare quotations on the same basis
Put quantity, currency, specification version, delivery location and quote validity on the same comparison sheet. Ask which packaging, tooling, inspection, freight and after-sales costs are excluded. Define a named delivery term and location in the contract instead of relying on an abbreviation alone. Do not treat a low displayed price or “negotiable MOQ” as a final offer.
