Prevent the spread of unexplained acute severe hepatitis in children! The General Administration of Customs has made arrangements

In response to reports of unexplained cases of acute severe hepatitis in children in many countries around the world, the General Administration of Customs recently made arrangements for health quarantine at customs ports across the country to prevent the spread of the epidemic into my country.

The General Administration of Customs requires customs across the country to strengthen quarantine inspections such as health declaration, temperature monitoring, and medical inspections for inbound passengers from countries/regions with reported cases. Passengers who actively report or are found on site with symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, and jaundice, especially children, should be subject to medical screening in accordance with prescribed procedures. Passengers suspected of having unexplained acute severe hepatitis in children after medical screening should be promptly transferred to designated medical institutions for further diagnosis and treatment, and follow-up tracking should be done.

WHO: Thorough hand washing helps reduce transmission

Customs reminds that symptoms of unexplained acute severe hepatitis in children include jaundice and gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, etc.

If you experience any discomfort during your journey, you should promptly and truthfully inform the crew and cooperate with self-protection. Passengers, especially children, who experience gastrointestinal symptoms and jaundice should report to the customs in a timely manner so that they can receive diagnosis and treatment as soon as possible.

WHO advises that thorough hand washing, including supervision of children, can help reduce the spread of many common infections.
