From December 23 to 25, Inner Mongolia ushered in a new round of cold wave weather. Under the original relatively low temperature conditions, the temperature in most areas will still drop by 8~10℃. Among them, the temperature in the southern part of the central and eastern regions will drop by 10~14℃, and in some areas it will be above 16℃. At the same time, snowfall occurred in many places.

As the cold air continues to gain force, on the 24th, the lowest temperature in many places in Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia will be around -35℃, among which Genhe and Tulihe areas will experience extremely cold weather below -40℃.

The sharp drop in temperature and continued low temperatures will have an adverse impact on agriculture and animal husbandry, making it difficult for livestock to graze and eat, causing them to lose weight. The characteristics of this round of cold wave weather in Hunan are: wide snowfall range, heavy local snowfall, large temperature drop, long-lasting strong winds, complex rain and snow phase transition, and the zero-degree line of the lowest temperature moving south rapidly. From the 26th to the 28th, the lowest temperature in the province will drop below 0℃.

Specifically:

· The minimum temperature zero line moves south rapidly: Starting from the evening of the 24th, the minimum temperature 0℃ line moves south rapidly. From the 26th to the 28th, the minimum temperature in the whole province will drop below 0℃. Among them, from the 27th to the 28th, the local minimum temperature will drop to around -4℃.

· Complex transition between rain and snow phases: From the evening of the 24th to the 26th, Hunan will experience a weather transition from rain to sleet and then to pure snow. There will also be freezing in some parts of southern Hunan on the 26th.

· Local heavy snow: The heaviest snowfall will occur from the evening of the 25th to the daytime of the 26th. Most of Hunan will experience moderate snowfall or above, with heavy snow in some areas including central and southern Huaihua, Shaoyang, Loudi, and northern Yongzhou.

The characteristics of this round of cold wave weather in Guizhou are: the cold air path is biased to the east, the temperature drops sharply, the snowfall range is wide, the rain and snow phases are complex, and snowy weather occurs.

From 02:00 to the morning of December 26, Guizhou was mainly experiencing a mixture of rain, freezing rain, and sleet; during the day on the 26th, it turned into pure snow, with complex rain and snow phases.

From December 25 to 26, Guizhou will see widespread snow condensation, and the snowfall will end during the day on the 27th. Snow condensation refers to snowfall and freezing, which is called "rain rime" in meteorology, and Guizhou people figuratively call "freezing" "tung oil condensation". Snow condensation often appears on roads, power facilities and other facilities.

When snow and ice appear, highway management personnel and traffic police will spread salt on the road to remove ice.

Guizhou is a land of rolling mountains and ravines. As of 2020, the province has more than 7,000 kilometers of expressways open to traffic and many bridges.
