[Source] The whole plant of Ficus microcarpa, a plant of the Moraceae family. Collected in spring and autumn. Wash and dry.

[Original form] Upright small shrub, 1 to 2 meters high. Leaves are alternate, papery, linear or linear-lanceolate, 6-18 cm long, 1-2.6 cm wide, with long acuminate apex, broad cuneate base, entire margin, rough, midrib sparsely covered with short stiff hairs below, 15 pairs of lateral veins, gradually ascending or extending horizontally, and reticulated near the leaf margin. Inflorescence receptacle solitary on leaf pus, with short stalks, obovate, turning black when mature, with small, persistent bracts at base. The male flowers and gall flowers grow in the same inflorescence receptacle, and the female flowers grow in another inflorescence receptacle: the male flowers grow on the inner wall of the inflorescence receptacle near the mouth, with or without stalks, 3 to 4 tepals, 2 stamens, rarely 3; the female flowers have 4 tepals and lateral styles. The fruit is nearly spherical, with ridges on the top and one side slightly concave.

[Habitat distribution] Grown in valley rivers, streams and moist areas in forests. Distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou and other places.

【Nature and flavor】 Sweet and bitter, warm.

【Functions and indications】 ① "Color Atlas of Commonly Used Chinese Herbal Medicines": "It nourishes qi and moistens the lungs, removes phlegm and relieves cough, and promotes qi and blood circulation. It can treat swelling and pain caused by falls, rheumatic bone pain, lack of milk in women, five kinds of labor and seven kinds of injuries, and cough and chest pain."

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoct in water, 0.5 to 1 liang.

[Additional prescription] To treat persistent pregnancy spots: 2 qian of rice clear and 5 qian of Polygonum multiflorum. Cook with rice soup. (Yunnan Chinese Herbal Medicine)
