[Original form] Silver-gray bindweed is a perennial herb, 2-15cm tall. The rhizome is short and woody; the stems are few or many, procumbent or ascending, and the branches and leaves are densely covered with appressed silvery-gray silky hairs. Simple leaves are alternate; sessile; leaf blades are linear or narrowly lanceolate, 1-2 cm long, 1-5 mm wide, with sharp tips and narrow bases. Flowers are solitary at the ends of branches, with thin pedicels; sepals 5, 4-7mm long, outer sepals oblong, inner sepals wider, elliptical, densely covered with appressed silvery hairs; corolla small, funnel-shaped, light rose or white with purple stripes, hairy, 5 shallowly lobed; stamens 5, shorter than corolla, filament base slightly enlarged; pistil glabrous, slightly longer than stamens; ovary 2-chambered, style 2-lobed, stigma B linear. Capsule spherical, 2-lobed. There are 2-3 seeds, which are oval, smooth, beaked, and light brown-red.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: grows in arid hillside grasslands or roadsides.

[Properties] Property identification: The whole plant is 2-12cm long, and the above-ground part is covered with silver-grey silky hairs. The rhizome is short and woody. The stems are branched, thin and curved; brittle and easy to break. Leaves are alternate, mostly wrinkled or falling off. When intact, they are flattened to become linear or narrowly lanceolate, 1-2 cm long, with pointed apex and narrow base; sessile. The flowers are small, solitary at the ends of branches, with thin pedicels; the corolla is funnel-shaped, lavender or white. Capsule spherical, 2-lobed. There are 2-3 seeds, which are oval, light brown-red and smooth. It has a faint smell and a spicy taste.
