[Source] Medicinal material source: The fruiting body of the fungus Boletus edulis of the Boletaceae family.

[Original morphology] The cap is slightly convex in the middle and flattens out later, with a diameter of 4-10cm. Dark yellow, reddish yellow or reddish brown, covered with hair and scales, with the lid edge slightly curled inward, often retaining incomplete marginal membranes, and turning dirty yellow when pressed with fingers. The handle is cylindrical, 4-9cm long, 8-10mm thick, and yellow in color. The stalk has a membranous ring when young, which falls off later. The handle is hollow. Basidiospores are narrowly ovate to drum-shaped, bilaterally asymmetrical, (7-10)μm×(3.5-4)μm.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Solitary or in groups, mostly found under coniferous forests, especially under larch (Larix) forests. It is an ectomycorrhizal fungus.
