[Original form] Deciduous tree, 10 to 15 meters high. The branches have dark yellow lenticels, and the new branches are covered with dark yellow-gray short soft hairs. The leaves are even-pinnate compound, alternate, and 20 to 35 cm long including the petiole. There are 8 to 14 leaflets, ovate to oblong, 6 to 14 cm long, 2.5 to 6 cm wide, with short pointed apex, rounded or obtuse base, asymmetrical on both sides, entire margin, and sparse short hairs along the veins on both sides. Flowers are heterogamous; panicles are terminal, 12-25 cm long, and pubescent like the pedicel; flowers are small and white; sepals are 5, ovate, dark purple at the base, with nearly membranous edges and ciliate; petals are usually 4, elliptic or obovate-elliptic, 4-5 mm long; disk is biased to one side; stamens are 8. Shorter than petals: ovary densely hairy. The drupe is spherical, smooth, 15 to 18 mm in diameter, with fleshy skin; the seeds are dark brown and shiny. Flowering period is from May to June. The fruiting period is from September to October.

[Habitat distribution] Grown in dense forests, valleys, field edges or sparse woods. Distributed in Yunnan, Sichuan and other places.
