[Source] It is the root and whole herb of the Chrysopogon japonicus plant of the Chrysopogon japonicus family . Harvest in summer and autumn, wash, and use fresh or dry in the sun.

[Original form] Perennial herb or subshrub. The rhizome is thick and has many fibrous roots. The stem is erect. The leaves are opposite, usually 4 pieces are born at the top of the stem; the leaves are ovate, 15 to 20 cm long, gradually pointed at the tip, cuneate at the base, and serrated at the edges. Several spike inflorescences clustered at the top of the stem; flowers light green; 1 stamen, 2-chambered, connective shorter than the chalet; ovary inferior. Flowering period is summer.

[Habitat distribution] It grows in shady and moist places such as under forests and by water. Distributed in Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Shaanxi and other places.

[Properties and flavors] "Jiangxi Herbal Medicine": "bitter, slightly warm, slightly toxic."

【Functions and indications】Promote blood circulation, disperse blood stasis, dispel wind and detoxify. Treat bruises and fractures, low back and leg pain, colds, leucorrhea, carbuncle, and skin itching.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decocted in water, 2 to 5 qian; or soaked in wine. For external use: mash and apply or decoct in water for washing.

[Additional prescription] ① Treat injuries from falls: Take appropriate amount of Polystigma multiflorum root and fresh leek root, mash and apply.
