[Original form] Fishtail palm, tree-like, up to 20m high. The stem has no suckers and is solitary. The leaves are large and strong, 3-4m long; there are 18-20 pinnae on each side, drooping, with the middle ones longer; the lobes are thick and hard, with a fan-shaped leaf at the top with irregular teeth, and the sides are diamond-shaped and fish-tail-like, 15-20cm long, with the coarse-toothed part on the inner edge exceeding half of the total length, and the outer edge extending into a long tail tip. The spathe and inflorescence are scaleless; the spadix is ​​about 3m long, with hanging branches, 3 flowers clustered, and the female flower is between 2 male flowers; male flowers: sepals are broad and round, about 5mm long; petals are yellow, leathery and hard, about 2cm long and 7mm wide; stamens are numerous, about the same length as the corolla, anthers are linear, yellow, and filaments are nearly white; female flowers are smaller, 7-8mm long, with entire margins at the apex, 3 reduced stamens, subulate; ovary is nearly ovate-triangular, and the stigma is 2-lobed. The fruit is spherical, 1.8-2cm in diameter, light red when ripe, and contains 1-2 seeds. The flowering period is from May to July, and the fruiting period is from August to November.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing on hillsides or in valley forests, at an altitude of 450-700m.
