Low concentrations of Typha lachryma-leaf alcohol extract solution can increase the contractile force of toad isolated hearts, while high concentrations can inhibit it. Large doses of Pollen Typhae extract have little effect on the dog's cardiopulmonary system, but have a slight dilating effect on the rabbit's ear blood vessels.

Effects on the Intestinal Tract

Puhuang extract can enhance intestinal peristalsis in isolated rabbits, but this can be blocked by atropine. The isorhamnetin contained in it has an antispasmodic effect on the isolated intestine of mice.

Coagulation

Oral administration of water extract or 5% ethanol extract can significantly shorten the coagulation time of rabbits; Puhuang extract can increase the number of platelets and shorten the prothrombin time of rabbits; external application of Puhuang powder has a hemostatic effect on arterial bleeding in dogs.
