[Original form] Yunnan Medinia is a thornless shrub, the plant is up to 4m tall. Simple leaves are alternate; petiole is 5-10mm long; leaf blade is broadly elliptic or obovate, 10-20cm long, with short acuminate or acute tip, very shallow and sparse teeth on the edge, and gradually narrow at the base. The inflorescence is paniculate, with 2-7 branches in clusters, the peduncle is not obvious, each inflorescence has 3 to more flowers, the flowers are white-green, 3-4mm in diameter, and 5-some; the stamens are born under the disk. The capsule is obovate, about 1m long and 8mm in diameter. The seeds are brown, long ovate, with a shallow cup-shaped yellowish aril at the base.
