[Original form] A small tree, 8-10m high. Young branches are covered with gray-brown stellate pubescence. Simple leaves are alternate; petiole is 1.5-5.5cm long; leaf blade is broadly obovate-round or nearly round, 14-21cm long, 11-16cm wide, with acute or acuminate apex, slightly cordate base, sometimes with 3-5 shallow cracks near the apex, both sides are covered with rough gray-brown stellate hairs, denser below; 5-7 basal veins, reticulate veins protruding below. The terminal panicle is up to 27 cm long, with small flowers, 8 mm in diameter; sepals are lanceolate, about 4 mm long, and covered with short stellate hairs on the outside; petals are yellow, spoon-shaped, about the same length as the sepals, with glands at the base; stamens are numerous, about the same length as the petals; ovary has 3-5 chambers, the style is tapering and hairy, and there are 2-4 ovules in each chamber. The capsule is about 5mm in diameter and has 3-5 wings, each about 5mm long. The flowering period is June and the fruiting period is November.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing in mountain secondary forests or on the edge of forests at an altitude of 1000-2000m.

【Nature and flavor】 Bitter; Cold

【Functions and indications】 Clears heat and cools blood; clears rash and detoxifies. Mainly used for macules that are not clear; measles that do not come out; carbuncle, swelling, sore, and pus that does not break out.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decocted in water, 9-15g. For external use: take appropriate amount and mash it for application.
