The efficacy and function of Alopecuroides

[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of Alopecurus mume of the Poaceae family.

[Original form] Alopecuroides is an annual herb. The culms are few and clustered, thin, smooth, often knee-shaped at the nodes, and 15-40cm high. The leaf sheath is smooth and shorter than the internodes; the ligule is membranous, 2-5mm long; the leaf blade is flat, 3-10cm long and 2-6mm wide. The panicle is cylindrical, gray-green, 2-7cm long and 3-6mm wide; the spikelets are elliptical or ovate-elliptical, 2-3mm long; the glumes are membranous, united at the base, with 3 veins, fine cilia on the ridges, and short hairs on the lower part of the lateral veins; the lemma is membranous, obtuse at the apex, equal to or slightly longer than the glumes, and the lower margins are connected, the awn is 1.5-3.5mm long, extending from about the lower 1/4 of the lemma, hidden or exposed; the anthers are orange-yellow, 0.5-0.8mm long. Caryopsis about 1mm long. Flowering and fruiting period is from April to August.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: It often grows on the edge of fields and in humid places at low altitudes.
