[Alias] Internet chicken blood vine (Illustrated Description of China's Main Plants, Leguminosae), yellow rattan, blue rattan (Wild Plants in Hunan), hard-shell rattan, stone pillar rattan, large intestine rattan (Guangxi Chinese Veterinary Medicinal Plants), reed rattan, mouse bean (Handbook of the Patriotic Health Campaign for Pest Control and Disease Eradication), native chicken blood (Hangzhou Medicinal Plants), green peel blood-activating, blood-preventing rattan, blood-filled bark (Hunan Medicinal Plants), light-leaved red rattan, blood rattan, white blood rattan, red rattan, yellow Zhao rattan, pine rattan, horse urine blood bean, cliff rattan (Common Folk Herbs in Zhejiang Province), white bone rattan (Guangxi Chinese Herbal Medicines). [Source] It is the stem of the leguminosae plant Millettia kunmingensis . From August to September, cut the vine stems, remove the branches and leaves, cut into small sections of 30 to 60 cm, and dry them in the sun. [Original form] A climbing shrub, 2 to 4 meters high, with grayish white stem bark. Pinnate compound leaves, 10-20 cm long, with 5-9 leaflets; leaflets are oblong into ovate-oblong, 2.5-10 cm long, 2-3.5 cm wide, papery, obtuse and slightly concave at the apex, entire margin, rounded or obtuse base, dark green and smooth above, green below; reticulate veins are obvious on both sides; petiolules are 4-5 mm long; stipules are about 3 mm long and needle-shaped. Inflorescence terminal, weak, drooping, 5-10 cm long; peduncle with short yellow hairs; flowers numerous, densely grown, pedicel slightly shorter than calyx, with short hairs; bracteoles two, rectangular, about 1.5 mm long; calyx bell-shaped, about 3 mm long, 5-lobed teeth short and blunt, margin with short yellowish hairs; corolla bare, dark purple, 13-15 mm long, standard petal slightly shorter than keel and slightly concave. The pods are flat, thin, hard, and bare, up to 15 cm long. The fruit lobes are nearly woody, with 3 to 6 seeds, and are oblate. Flowering period is from May to June. The fruiting period is from November to December. [Habitat distribution] Distributed in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hunan, Hubei, Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Fujian, Taiwan and other places. [Pharmacological action] The decoction or tincture of Millettia reticulata has a stimulating effect on the isolated uterus of mice, guinea pigs, and domestic rabbits, whether pregnant or not, as well as the uterus in situ and uterine fistula of rabbits. Experiments on the isolated uterus have shown that small doses (0.2 ml of 5% decoction) can enhance the rhythmic contraction of the uterus, while larger doses (0.1-0.2 ml of 100% decoction) can make the contraction more significant, with a significantly increased amplitude, and some tend to be spasmodic contractions; the pregnant uterus is more sensitive than the non-pregnant uterus. The decoction is more effective than the tincture in treating the in situ uterus and uterine fistula in rabbits. Oral gavage of 10 g (raw drug)/kg of decoction, intravenous injection of 1 g (raw drug)/kg of decoction or 1-4 g (raw drug)/kg of tincture can enhance the rhythmic contraction of the uterus. Increasing the dose may cause more spasmodic contraction of the pregnant uterus. Preliminary analysis shows that the effect of uterine stimulation is a direct effect on the uterine muscle and has nothing to do with adrenergic receptors or choline receptors. [Preparation] Wash and moisten with water, cut into 2.5 cm long and 1.5 cm thick oblique slices, and dry in the sun or in an oven. 【Nature and flavor】 "Hunan Pharmacopoeia": "bitter, warm." 【Functions and indications】Nourishes blood, dispels wind, promotes blood circulation and activates collaterals.
