【Nature and flavor】 Bitter, salty, cold.

[Entry into meridians] "Changsha Yaojie": "enters the liver meridian of foot Jueyin."

【Function and indication】 Clears away heat and relieves gas. It is used to treat diabetes, restlessness, paroxysmal abdominal distension, leucorrhea and toothache.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoct in water, 2 to 3 qian. For external use: decoct in water for gargling or grind into juice for application.

[Additional prescription] ① Treat running pig qi rushing up to the chest, abdominal pain, alternating chills and fever: 2 liang each of liquorice, chuanxiong, and angelica, 4 liang of pinellia, 2 liang of scutellaria, 5 liang of kudzu vine, 2 liang of peony, 4 liang of ginger, and 1 liter of the white bark of the root of Glycyrrhiza uralensis.
