[Original form] Perennial herb, 30 to 50 cm high. The rhizome is short and thick, obliquely ascending, and densely covered with linear brown scales. Leaves subspermous; petiole 7-15 cm high, brown-black, shiny, covered with chaff-like scales; single-pinnate compound leaves, 15-30 cm long, 3-4 cm wide; pinnae at the top are the largest, with 7-14 pairs of pinnae on both sides, alternate, pinnae ovate to ovate-rectangular, entire, obtuse at apex, middle pinnae 2-2.5 cm long, 7-12 mm wide; lower pinnae split, petiolate, upper ones sessile; leaves thick, papery, densely covered with slender rusty hairs on both sides, especially on the bottom; leaf veins fan-shaped. Sori attached along lateral veins, enshrined in rusty hairs: sori cap absent.
