[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of the Urticaceae plant mirror grass.

[Original form] Perennial fleshy and sturdy herb, about 20cm tall (up to 65cm when cultivated). The whole plant is glabrous, with densely jointed nodes and densely covered persistent scaly stipules on the upper part, which are brown. Leaves are spirally arranged; petiole is 3-14cm long; stipules are triangular ovate to triangular lanceolate, 5-13mm long, 7-10mm wide, with short caudate-acuminate tip, membranous, translucent, grayish white when young, then gradually turning dark brown; leaf blade is shield-shaped, fleshy, broadly elliptic to subcircular, about 4-7m long and wide, with obtuse tip, nearly circular base, entire margin, dark green and shiny above, light green below; there are 8-10 palmate veins, which are more obvious on both sides. Flowers are small, unisexual, and monoecious; panicle, male inflorescence is about 22cm long, flowers are clustered on the inflorescence axis, peduncle is up to 11cm long, bracts and bracteoles are linear-lanceolate; perianth tube is 4-lobed; stamens are 4, female perianth lobes are 3, unequal in size, 6-7mm long, boat-shaped, without degenerate stamens; ovary is flat elliptic-ovoid, oblique, stigma is sessile, brush-shaped. Achenes are oval, slightly flat, skewed, and have purple-red wart-like protrusions on the surface. The flowering period is from April to July, and the fruiting period is from July to September.
