[Source] It is the whole herb of Pteris glabra, a plant of the Pterisaceae family. It can be harvested throughout the year, washed and dried.

【Original form】 Evergreen perennial herb. The rhizome is short, horizontal, densely covered with linear-lanceolate scales, dark brown. The leaves are clustered, 1-2 times pinnate-divided, 30-60 cm long, leathery and smooth, with grass green petioles about 30 cm long, slightly curved, dark brown at the end, rough surface, and scales only at the base; the lobes of the nutrient leaves are long linear, wider than the sporophylls, up to 1.2 cm, with serrations on the edges; the lobes of the sporophylls are long linear, slightly leathery, 4.5-6 mm wide, serrations, the main vein protruding on the back, the fine veins growing horizontally and sometimes bifurcated; the sporangium groups are attached along the lower leaf margin, some of which are slightly curled; the sori cover is narrow and membranous, and the spores are brown-yellow.

[Habitat distribution] Grown beside bamboo forests, river valleys, rock crevices and mountain wetlands. Distributed in the southwest region.

【Functions and indications】 Clears away heat, detoxifies, promotes blood circulation and promotes diuresis. Treat dysentery, enteritis, painful urination, carbuncles, boils, and fractures.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoct in water, 3 to 5 qian. For external use: mash and apply.
