【Alias】 Purna (Tibetan name)

[Source] It is the whole herb of Artemisia selengensis of the Asteraceae family. Cut the stems and leaves from July to September. Cut into sections and dry in the shade.

[Original form] Perennial herb, 50 to 80 cm tall. The stem is erect, branched at the base, and the whole plant is covered with grayish white short hairs. Leaves are alternate, 2-3 times pinnately divided, with lobes ovate to oblong, 1.5-2 cm long, 1 cm wide, sparsely hairy on the upper side and white tomentose beneath. The upper leaves are linear and petiolate. The capitula is small and arranged in compound racemes; all flowers are tubular, with female flowers in one row at the margin and bisexual flowers on the disk; the inner layer of the involucral bracts is woody. Achenes are small, white-hairy and slightly ridged.

[Habitat distribution] Growing beside fields, roadsides and hillsides. Distributed in Northeast China, North China, Southwest China, Xinjiang, Tibet and other places.

【Nature and flavor】 Bitter, cold.

【Functions and indications】 Clears away heat, strengthens the stomach, dispels wind and relieves itching. Treats internal heat caused by plague, sore limbs, and bone vaporization and fever.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoct in water, 1 to 3 qian.
