[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of the funnel-shaped fern of the Hymenopteris family.

[Original morphology] Medium-sized epiphytic fern, plant height 25-40cm. The rhizome is dark brown, horizontal, hard, densely covered with brown node-like hairs, and sparsely covered with fibrous roots underneath; there are hairy buds in the leaf axils. Leaves are distal; petiole 5-15cm long, with narrow wings on both sides extending down to the base, covered with flattened nodular hairs at the base; leaf blade membranous, broadly lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, 20-35cm long, 6-10cm wide, and three-pinnately lobed; pinnae 14-20 pairs, alternate, with short petioles, connected to each other by narrow wings, triangular oblique ovate to ovate-lanceolate, 3-7cm long, 1.5-2.5cm wide; eponymous pinnae 6-10 pairs, alternate, sessile, long ovate, with the largest pinna on the upper side of the base, often covering the rachis; bieponymous pinnae 3-6 pairs, alternate, oblong, with several simple or forked shallow lobes on the upper part; terminal lobes short, circular linear, entire, veins multi-forked, terminal lobes with 1-2 small veins; rachis and rachis are winged, sparsely covered with dark brown nodular hairs. The sori are located at the tip of the terminal lobe, which is sometimes shortened so that the sori are located between the lobes; the theca is tubular, narrowly funnel-shaped, about 1.5 mm long, erect or slightly curved, with narrow wings on both sides, a truncated or slightly swollen mouth, and the edges are not rolled out; the theca receptacle is thread-like, black, about 3 mm long, and extends out of the theca.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing on tree trunks under evergreen broad-leaved forests at an altitude of 400-2700m or on shady and wet rocks beside streams.
