【Original form】 1. Paulownia, tree, up to 30m tall. The bark is gray-brown, and the young branches, leaves, petioles, various parts of the inflorescence and young fruits are covered with yellow-brown star-shaped hairs. Petiole up to 12cm long; leaf blade long ovate-cordate, up to 20cm long, with acuminate or acute tip, cordate base, and entire margin. The inflorescence is narrow and almost cylindrical, about 25cm long; the cymes have 3-8 flowers, with buds in the autumn of the first year and open before the leaves; the peduncle is nearly as long as the pedicel; the calyx is obconical, 2-2.5cm long, 5-lobed, 1-3 of which are ovate, and become narrow triangles in the fruiting period; the corolla is tubular-funnel-shaped, white with purple spots inside, up to 10cm long, the tube is straight and gradually expands upward, the upper lip is narrow, 2-lobed, and curled, the lower lip is 3-lobed, and the tips have tooth-like teeth or concave heads; there are 4 stamens, didynamous, hidden in the corolla tube; the ovary is 2-chambered, the style is slender and inward-curved. Capsule woody, oblong, 6-10cm long, 2-lobed. Seeds numerous, flat and winged. The flowering period is February-March, and the fruiting period is August-September.

[Properties] Identification of properties: The roots are cylindrical, of varying lengths, about 2 cm in diameter, with a surface that is gray-brown to brown-brown, rough, with obvious wrinkles and longitudinal grooves, with transverse cracks and protruding lateral root cracks. It is hard and not easy to break, with an irregular cross section. The bark is brown or light brown, the wood is broad, yellow-white, fibrous, and has many holes (ducts) and radial texture.
