Leaves opposite; petiole short, mostly no more than 1cm, nearly sessile in upper part; leaf blade ovate or ovate-cordate, rarely 1-2.5cm, 0.8-2(-3)cm wide, apex obtuse or acute, base mostly cordate, rarely nearly truncate or rounded, margin crenate, densely covered with short soft hairs and glandular dots on both sides, reticulate veins raised below. The inflorescence is axillary, with a very short peduncle, 5mm long to nearly sessile. The bracts are small, linear-lanceolate, and covered with short soft hairs; the calyx is tubular-bell-shaped or nearly tubular, 8-9mm long, with 12-15 veins, densely covered with short soft hairs and glandular dots on the outside, and with a hair ring at the throat on the inside. The calyx teeth are 5, two-lipped, and the teeth are narrowly ovate or oblong-ovate, and the 3 teeth on the upper lip are higher; the corolla is blue, 16-18mm long, covered with short soft hairs on the outside, the corolla tube extends outward and expands upward, the corolla brim is two-lipped, the upper lip is 3-lobed, the middle lobe is larger, the apex is slightly concave or shallowly 2-lobed, the lateral fissure is broadly elliptic, the lower lip is 2-lobed, and the lobes are nearly round; there are 4 stamens, only extending outward in the front; the style is extended outward, with 2 lobes at the apex, and the lobes are nearly equal. The nutlets are oblong-oval, about 2 mm long, and dark brown. Flowering period is from June to August.
