The roots contain daidzein, zanthoxylum bark alkaloids, artemisia selengensis alkaloids, camphorwood alkaloids, and zanthoxylum glabra alkaloids. The root bark contains Zanthoxylum bungeanum and hesperidin. The wood contains diazepine, calenduline, and amaranthine. The leaves contain volatile oils, resins and phenolic components.
