The cymes are often paired in axillary, with 5-lobed perianth and short hairs on the outside of the lobes; the male flowers have 4-5 stamens, short filaments, and anthers often with purple spots on the outside; the female flower ovary is sessile, 1-chambered, with 1 style and 2-pronged stigma. The drupe is oval or nearly spherical, about 2 mm in diameter, orange-red when ripe, with persistent style and perianth. The flowering period is from April to July, and the fruiting period is from July to September.
