Black bone is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine and is very helpful for many diseases. Below we will briefly introduce black bones.

[Alias] Iron sand, iron bones, oxtail fern, mountain tendon line (Guangxi Medicinal Plant List), mountain willow, green snake gall, small green snake, willow leaf clip (Kunming Folk Commonly Used Herbs), black dragon bone, Feixian vine, Dafeng vine (Yunnan Chinese Herbal Medicine Selection), little black cow, green fragrant vine, milk vine, green dan, black bone vine, green wind vine (Yunnan Chinese Herbal Medicine).

[Source] It is the root or the whole plant of the Ampelopsis pilosula . Collect in autumn and winter, wash, slice and dry.

[Original form] Southwestern willow, also known as Yunnan willow.

[Habitat distribution] Grown in sparse forests in mountains. Distributed in Tibet, Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangxi and other places.

[Chemical composition] The dianthus glycoside (crude glycoside) extracted from the fresh stem bark of dianthus has a cardiotonic effect, and its characteristics are similar to those of strophanthus glycoside G. The average lethal dose of dianthusin for pigeons was 5.9±1.0 mg/kg, which was lower than that of strophanthus G.

[Properties and flavors] "Commonly used folk herbs in Kunming": "bitter, cool, slightly toxic."

【Functions and indications】Unblock meridians, eliminate rheumatism, promote blood circulation and reduce inflammation. Treat injuries from falls, rheumatic joint pain, irregular menstruation, stomatitis, and mastitis.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decocted in water, 1 to 2 qian; or soaked in wine. For external use: decoct in water for washing or grind into powder for application.

【Note】 "Yunnan Chinese Herbal Medicine": "Patients with hepatitis and gastrointestinal ulcers should not take it. The daily dosage should not exceed three grams. Overdose may cause convulsions or even death."
