【Original form】 Shrub, 1-3m high. The stem is thick and has no branches except for the special lateral flower branches. Leaves are alternate, with petioles about 1 cm long; leaf blades are hard, papery or thick, elliptic or oblong-lanceolate, 9-17 cm long, 3-5 cm wide, acuminate at apex, cuneate at base, with wrinkled or finely rounded margins, marginal glandular dots between teeth, usually with dense glandular dots on the back, especially on the leaf margin, sometimes with sparse scales, midrib on the back is obvious and raised; lateral veins 15-30 pairs, connected into marginal veins close to the edge. The inflorescence is compound corymb or umbel, borne on the top of the lateral special flower branches, which are up to 30 cm long; the pedicel is 2.5-3.5mm long; the sepals are oblong-ovate to almost rounded, obtuse or rounded at the apex, 2.5-3.5mm long, with dense glandular dots, and slightly pubescent inside; the petals are white or light yellow at first, then turn pink, 6-8mm long, ovate to broadly ovate, acute at the apex, with glandular dots, sometimes only with sparsely pubescent inside at the base; the stamens are slightly shorter than the petals, the anthers are lanceolate or nearly ovate, with glandular dots on the back; the pistil is the same length as the petals or slightly shorter, and the ovary is spherical with dense glandular dots. The fruit is spherical, 7-9mm in diameter, red, and has dense glandular dots. The flowering period is from June to July, and the fruiting period is from October to December or until January of the following year.
