[Original form] The body is relatively large, about 3 cm long and about 5 cm wide when the wings are spread. Red with dark brown and yellowish brown markings. The head is large, black and triangular in shape. One pair of compound eyes; three simple eyes. There is a pair of antennae, which are slender and curved. The prothorax is yellowish brown, the mesothorax and metathorax are dark brown, and the sides of the prothorax are extended to the base of the wings. There are two pairs of wings, which are membranous, transparent and slightly reddish brown. There are three pairs of legs, which are slender and have five segments. The abdomen is yellowish brown and oblong in shape, with dark brown horizontal stripes in the center and posterior half of each abdominal segment.

[Distribution] They mostly gather in fir and cypress forests. They build nests and lay eggs in July and August. After the larvae hatch, they pupate in September and gradually become adults.
