After flowering, the leaves gradually increase in size, becoming long triangular, elliptic-lanceolate, up to 10cm long and 5cm wide, with obtuse or rounded apex, truncated or broadly cuneate base, migrating to the petiole, with sparsely wavy shallow round teeth on the margin, sometimes nearly entire at the bottom; petiole is relatively long, 2.5-8cm long, with narrow wings on the upper part, and the wings are significantly widened after flowering; stipules are membranous, scaly and brown at the lower part, light brown, lavender or pale at the upper part, about 2/3 or more fused with petiole, linear-lanceolate, with sparsely fine teeth on the margin or controlling one margin. The flowers are relatively large, violet or lavender; the pedicels are slender, often extending beyond the leaves; the sepals are 5, ovate-lanceolate or lanceolate, with broad and short appendages at the base; the petals are 5, with thick tubular spurs, curved upward or straight; the connective of the stamens has appendages at the tip; the ovary is ovoid, the style is clavate, and the stigma has a stigma hole at the tip of the short beak. The capsule is oblong, 1-15cm long, glabrous, with a pointed tip. Seeds ovoid, light reddish brown. Flowering and fruiting period is from April to September.
