[Source] Medicinal material source: It is the root of Euphorbia alpina of the Euphorbiaceae family.

[Original form] Euphorbia alpina is a perennial herb, 5-10cm tall. The upper part is covered with white curly pubescence; the base of the stem is covered with membranous scales; branches are branched from the base, and the branches are spreading or ascending. Leaves are alternate; petiole is extremely short; leaf blade is elliptical or obovate, green with purple, 0.5-1.2cm long, 0.3-0.7cm wide, obtuse or acute at apex, cuneate at base; leaves at base of inflorescence are arranged in whorls of 3-4, rhombic-round or obovate, 0.5-0.8cm long, 0.3-0.8cm wide. The involucre is hemispherical; there are 5 glands, which are transversely oblong, the styles are united at the base, and the apex is ± capitate and entire. The capsule is spherical, about 3mm in diameter, with fine particles; the seeds are smooth and the caruncle is convex. Flowering and fruiting period is from May to September.
