The inflorescence is spike-shaped, drooping, 7-9cm long, covered with short soft hairs, and often grows on 2-3 year old branches; the flowers are polygamous, dioecious; the sepals are 5, ovate, about 1mm long; the petals are 5, short, or undeveloped; the male flowers have 4-6 stamens, about 2mm long; the disk is slightly developed; the female flowers have glabrous ovaries, short styles, and recurved stigmas. The samaras are light green when young and yellowish brown when mature; the nutlets are oblong, about 1 cm long, raised, with obvious ridges, the wings are about 5 mm wide, and 2-2.5 cm long together with the nutlets, opening into an acute angle or nearly upright; the fruit stalk is about 2 mm long. The flowering period is April-May, and the fruiting period is September-October.
