Effects of chlortetracycline

Effects of chlortetracycline
What is chlortetracycline? What is the function? Many people have only heard the name of this medicine but don't know how to use it. Once in a pharmacy, someone bought chloramphenicol eye ointment and the doctor asked him what it was for. He said that he had a sore at the corner of his mouth and that it would heal quickly by applying some chloramphenicol eye ointment. The doctor smiled knowingly, as if admiring the man's understanding of the wonderful uses of the medicine. Eye ointment sounds like a medicine for eye diseases, but little do people know that this medicine can have multiple uses.

As a drug, chloramphenicol brings obvious convenience to people in daily life. It saves people from going to the hospital for a minor illness.

So, how does chlortetracycline bring convenience to people?

Chlortetracycline, also known as chlortetracycline, has an antibacterial spectrum similar to that of tetracycline. It is effective against Gram-positive cocci, especially staphylococci and pneumococci, and is used to treat conjunctivitis and trachoma. Moreover, chloramphenicol eye ointment has many magical effects.
1. Red eyes refer to an acute inflammation of the thin film outside the white of the eye, called conjunctivitis. It is mainly caused by infection, and manifests as excessive eye discharge, stinging pain, fear of light, and a foreign body sensation. You can first use warm water to clear the secretions, then apply chloramphenicol eye ointment, close your eyes and rest for a while, do this 3 times a day, and apply it once again before going to bed at night.
2. Keratitis The cornea refers to a transparent film in front of the black pupil. Once inflamed, apply chloramphenicol eye ointment immediately for treatment.
3. Stye is medically called sty. Do not squeeze it with your hands to avoid serious complications. Before it forms an abscess, apply hot compresses three times a day for 20 minutes each time, and then apply chloramphenicol eye ointment 2 to 3 times a day.
4. When erosion occurs at the corners of the mouth, on the one hand, take riboflavin (vitamin B2) for treatment, on the other hand, use a cotton swab dipped in warm water to wash the wound, wipe it dry, and then apply chloramphenicol eye ointment, which can heal faster.
In short, as a drug, chloramphenicol does not seem to be worthy of being used in high-end markets, but it is closely related to our daily lives. In addition, chloramphenicol eye ointment has certain side effects and is currently only available for external use. Therefore, when using it, you must be extra careful and not take it orally by mistake.
