1. "Bencao Shiyi": It is used to break up old blood, postpartum blood clots, women who are thin, unable to eat, and have lumps in the abdomen; continuous dripping, leucorrhea, and heart tightness. It can be decocted and taken or soaked in wine.

2. "Jiangxi Traditional Chinese Medicine": Promote blood circulation and dispel wind. It is mainly used to treat pains in muscles and bones, as well as leucorrhea in women caused by blood stasis. Recently it has been used as a wind-relieving and analgesic medicine, suitable for symptoms such as joint rheumatism, weak waist and legs, etc.

Medicinal value of creeper

1. Treatment of arthritis: 2 liang of creeper vine, 2 liang of Sophora flavescens root, 2 liang of Caragana root, and 1 liang of Rubia cordifolia root. Decoction in water. (Jiangxi Herbal Medicine)

2. Treatment of rheumatoid arthritis: 1 liang of ivy vine stems or roots, 1 liang of stone spider plant. Take stewed pig's trotters three to four times in a row. Or one or two each of (Ivy) vine stems, Euonymus japonicus, and sorghum roots. Decoction in water and drink with rice wine. (Commonly used herbal medicines among Zhejiang folks)

3. To treat migraine and muscle and bone pain: 1 liang of creeping vine, 3 qian of angelica, 2 qian of Chuanxiong, and 3 dates. Decoction in water. (Jiangxi Herbal Medicine)

4. To treat hemiplegia: 50 cents of creeper vine, 2 liang of Caragana root, 50 cents of Sargentodoxa root, 1 liang of Rhizoma Cistanches root, and a little rock sugar. Decoction in water. (Jiangxi Herbal Medicine)

5. To treat boils and injuries: Mash the root of fresh ivy, mix it with fermented rice wine and apply it to the affected area; take another 50 cents to 1 tael of the root, decoct it in water and drink it. (Commonly used herbal medicines among Zhejiang folks)

6. To treat bloody stool: Take one pound of ivy vine stems and rice wine, add appropriate amount of water and boil them. Take it four times a day, divided into two days. (Commonly used herbal medicines among Zhejiang folks)

7. Treat bloody urine. Take Xuefengcao with water and grind it up for oral administration. The patient will be cured after taking it three times. (Liu Changchun's Experience Prescription)

8. To treat herpes zoster: grind the juice of ivy roots and apply it externally. (Commonly used herbal medicines among Zhejiang folks)

9. Treats bleeding in the large intestine. Take a small amount of blood-seeing sorrow, mix it with ginger juice, and mash it, then take it with rice drink. (Dai Yuanli's "Essentials of Diagnosis and Treatment")

Usage and dosage of creeper

0.5-1 liang, decocted in water or soaked in wine; for external use, appropriate amount, mash the root bark, mix with wine and apply to the affected area.
