The efficacy and function of stir-fried Shenqu

The efficacy and function of stir-fried Shenqu

Divine Comedy is important and can be seen all over the country. Since Shenqu is cut into small cubes in half, many people mistakenly think that Shenqu is a sugar cube. Stir-fried Shenqu means frying Shenqu and bran together. You need to pay attention to the heat when frying, and stop immediately when it turns yellow. Remove the bran and the stir-fried Shenqu is done. Or simply stir-fry it, but be sure to pay attention to the color. What are the effects and functions of stir-fried Shenqu?

Indications

1. External food poisoning. "Bencao Beiyao" says: "Spicy to disperse Qi, sweet to regulate the middle, warm to stimulate appetite, transform water and grain, and eliminate stagnation." Externally contracted wind-cold, internally injured by diet, aversion to cold and fever, headache without sweating, heavy nasal congestion, occasional clear nasal discharge, itchy throat and cough, sore limbs, abdominal distension, nausea and vomiting, or diarrhea, thin white tongue coating, and floating and tight pulse. The treatment should be to dispel wind-cold externally and eliminate food damage internally. Shenqu is pungent and warm to induce sweat and relieve exterior symptoms, and sweet and warm to regulate the middle and eliminate food, treating both the exterior and the interior.

2. Vomiting and diarrhea due to food poisoning. "Bencao Mengquan" says: "It can lower qi and regulate the middle, stop diarrhea and stimulate appetite, transform water and grain, and eliminate food stagnation." Improper eating and drinking, overeating, will damage the spleen and stomach. The stomach cannot be fed, the spleen cannot transport food, and vomiting will occur if the stomach qi goes against the flow, and diarrhea will occur if the spleen qi does not rise. Symptoms: abdominal distension, loss of appetite due to heat, vomiting of sour and rotten food, diarrhea with a stench like rotten eggs, abdominal pain that is resistant to pressure and is worse after eating, vomiting is slightly relieved, tongue coating is thick and greasy, and pulse is slippery and rapid. Shenqu can not only strengthen the spleen and stomach, but also help digestion and relieve stagnation, so it should be the first choice.

3. Eliminate accumulation and stop dysentery. "Zhenzhunang" says: "It nourishes the stomach qi and treats red and white dysentery." Overeating, eating too much sweet and fatty food, which stagnates in the stomach and cannot be digested, and is followed by damp-heat, damp-heat food accumulation, which blocks the intestines, injuring blood vessels, turning into pus, a mixture of red and white food, and flowing down, causing uncomfortable diarrhea, tenesmus, abdominal pain that is resistant to pressure, and greasy tongue coating and slippery pulse. Shenqu strengthens the spleen, helps digestion and eliminates stagnation, and is used together with products that clear away dampness and heat to treat dysentery.

4. Spleen deficiency and distension "Suwen·Yin Yang Ying Xiang Da Lun" says: "Dampness in the upper part will cause swelling of the skin." The spleen and stomach are weak, the middle yang fails to function properly, the clear yang fails to rise, and the turbid yin fails to descend, which will lead to accumulation over time. Symptoms include poor appetite, abdominal distension that worsens after meals, loose stools, pale tongue with greasy coating, and weak pulse. The treatment should be to strengthen the spleen and eliminate accumulation. Shenqu is sweet and warm, and can strengthen the spleen and stomach, eliminate accumulation and relieve stagnation. Combined with spleen-tonifying products, it can strengthen the middle burner, eliminate and replenish the body at the same time, and eliminate bloating and fullness.

5. Postpartum lactation: For those who do not need to breastfeed after childbirth, Shenqu can be used to stop lactation.

6. Assist in the digestion of mineral drugs. Shenqu can assist in the digestion and absorption of mineral drugs, so it is often used to make pills to help them exert their medicinal effects.

7. Identification Application

① When used raw, it can nourish the spleen and stomach and release the exterior; when used stir-fried, it can promote qi circulation, eliminate accumulation and stop diarrhea.

② Both Shenqu and malt are good at digesting food and eliminating stagnation. However, Shenqu has a strong digestive power and is good at promoting the flow of qi, so it is suitable for food stagnation, qi stagnation, abdominal pain and diarrhea; malt has a mild effect and has the function of harmonizing the middle and replenishing deficiency, so it is suitable for weak spleen and stomach and bland food.
