The effect of black and white

The effect of black and white

Although Heichou and Baichou have different names, they refer to the same plant, namely Morningglory. Morning glory seeds are the seeds of morning glory. Morning glory seeds have certain medicinal value. For example, they can treat diseases such as ascites, constipation and ascariasis, and are of great benefit to human health. Next, I will introduce to you in detail the effects of Heichou and Baichou, also known as the seeds of the morning glory.

1. What are black ugly and white ugly?

Both black and white morning glory seeds are black and white. There is no difference between them except that they are black and white. They have the same medicinal effects and are also called Erchou in traditional Chinese medicine. They have the effects of purging water and promoting diuresis. They are mainly used to treat edema, abdominal distension, and difficulty in urination and defecation. The traditional Chinese medicine black and white is used to treat edema, constipation, accumulation of phlegm and fluid, qi reversal, asthma and cough, abdominal pain caused by worms, ascariasis and red worm disease.

2. The efficacy of morning glory seeds

It has the effects of laxative, diuretic, detumescence and anthelmintic. It is mainly used to treat limb edema, nephritis edema, ascites due to cirrhosis, constipation, abdominal pain due to worm ingestion, etc. Preparation of Pharbitis seeds: Take the original medicinal materials, pick out impurities, wash off the dirt with clean water, and dry them in the sun. To stir-fry the seeds of the Pharbitis lily, take the seeds of the Pharbitis lily and place them in a frying pan. Heat over low heat and stir-fry until they are slightly puffed up, have a fragrant smell, and show a fiery color. Take them out and spread them to cool. The finished product is occasionally browned. After frying, its diuretic and laxative effects can be alleviated.

Nature and flavor: cold, bitter

Function: Enters the lung, kidney and large intestine meridians; slightly toxic; has a laxative and expel parasites.

Indications: Suitable for ascites, abdominal distension and constipation, ascariasis, etc.

The seeds of morning glory contain palmitic acid, gibberellin A3, gibberellin A20, gibberellin A26, A27, and morning glory acid C and D. Although it is slightly poisonous, it can cure edema, phlegm, cough, constipation, ascariasis, nematodes, athlete's foot, etc. Pregnant women and people with qi and spleen deficiency should not take it.

3. Pharmacological Application of Pharbitis Seed

1. Laxative effect

The chemical properties of phytosterol are similar to those of jalapin and it has a strong laxative effect. When bile and intestinal fluid meet the bile in the intestine, the bile glycoside breaks down into bile glycoside, which stimulates the intestine, increases peristalsis, and causes diarrhea. Generally, diarrhea will occur within 3 hours after taking the medicine, and if the amount is large, the stool will be watery. Animal experiments show that: the ethanol or water extract of the seeds produced a laxative effect when administered to mice at a dose of 1.5-3 g/kg, but the laxative effect disappeared when the decoction was used. There is no obvious difference in the laxative effect between black and white atractylodes. The laxative mechanism of Pharbitis seeds is different from that of magnesium sulfate and rhubarb, and does not cause drastic changes in blood sugar. The aqueous solution without the pharmacoside still has a laxative effect, suggesting that in addition to pharmacoside, it may contain other laxative components.

2. Diuretic effect

Pharbicotinoside can accelerate the excretion of inulin in the kidneys, so it may have a diuretic effect.

3. Effects on smooth muscle

Pharbicoderin has a stimulating effect on isolated rabbit intestine and isolated rat uterus. The alkaline salt, the hydrolysis product of pharmacoside, can cause contraction of the small intestine, large intestine and cecum of guinea pigs after a latent period of 1 minute. The sensitivity is in the following order: large intestine > small intestine > cecum. However, the decoction of this product and the glycoside of morning glory do not have this effect.

4. Other functions

In vitro tests showed that black and white amaranth have anthelmintic effects against Ascaris suum.
