Anzizui grass is a herb that grows among many weeds. Because Chinese medicine has a lot of knowledge about herbal plants, different herbal plants are used as medicine. The main growing environment is in both the north and the south, but it only grows in Sichuan in the south. The main effects are antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and toxin prevention. It also has the effect of stopping diarrhea and relieving pain. Morphological characteristics Perennial herb, 35-80 cm tall. Stem prostrate or slightly inclined, much branched. The leaves are opposite, with petioles 1.5~4 cm long, with flat and curled soft hairs, the leaf blades are 3~5 deeply lobed, nearly pentagonal, slightly cordate at the base, the lobes are nearly diamond-shaped, obtuse or pointed at the tip, with neat serrations on the edges, green above with procumbent hairs, light green below with soft hairs along the veins. The flowers are small, about 1 cm in diameter, with 2 flowers on each pedicel, axillary, and slender pedicels; 5 sepals, ovate or ovate-lanceolate, sparsely pubescent, with awns at the tip; 5 petals, obovate, white or light pink, with dark red longitudinal veins; 10 stamens, all with anthers; style 5-lobed, elongated and fused to the fruit stalk to form a beak. The capsule has a long beak-shaped tip, which splits open when ripe, with the beak curling from bottom to top. Seeds oblong, dark brown. The flowering period is from May to June. Fruiting period is June to July. Growth environment Growing on hillsides, meadows and roadsides. Distribution Distributed in Northeast China, North China, East China, Central China, Shaanxi, Gansu, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan and other places. It is also distributed in Russia's Far East, North Korea, Japan and other countries. Antibacterial effect The whole herb decoction has a significant inhibitory effect on human catarrhalis, Staphylococcus aureus, Shigella flexneri, Geranium, Group B Streptococcus, Pneumococcus, etc. in test tube. The tannin contained in it has a certain influence on its antibacterial effect. It has a significant inhibitory effect on Asian influenza A virus Jingke 68-1 strain and parainfluenza virus type I Sendai strain. The MIC of geraniol contained in this product against Trichophyton mentagrophytes and Microsporum audouinii is 0.39ml/ml. Antiviral effect The decoction of the whole herb has a significant inhibitory effect on Asian influenza A virus Jingke 68-1 strain and parainfluenza virus type I Sendai strain (tested by chicken embryo, hemagglutination test); its leaves and stems have a stronger effect on the former, while the root has a weaker effect; the tannic acid it contains has little effect on its antiviral effect. Through the screening test of chicken embryo inhibition of influenza virus, geranium has a certain inhibitory effect. Antidiarrheal effect The water-soluble extract of Japanese geranium has a certain antidiarrheal effect on rabbits. When rabbits take its decoction or dry extract on an empty stomach, it can inhibit the activity of the duodenum and small intestine and promote the reverse peristalsis of the cecum, thus producing an antidiarrheal effect; but if the dosage is too large, it can promote the peristalsis of the large intestine and produce a laxative effect. |
