1. The value of mulberry leaves

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that mulberry leaves are bitter and sweet, slightly cold in nature, and belong to the lung and liver meridians. Dispel wind-heat, clear the liver and improve eyesight. It is mainly used to treat exogenous wind-heat or the initial stage of wind-heat, fever, headache, sweating, aversion to wind, cough and chest pain; dry cough, dry throat and thirst; wind-heat and excess heat in the liver meridian, red and swollen eyes.

Mulberry leaves contain a large amount of plant protein and various trace elements, including many rare trace elements, which are very meaningful for promoting dietary balance.

Domestic and foreign research data confirm that biotin and polysaccharides are the main blood sugar-lowering active ingredients in mulberry leaves. There are two mechanisms by which mulberry leaf bioalkaloids lower blood sugar: one is the inhibition of α-glucosidase activity, and the other is the promotion of insulin release.

Mulberry leaves and ecdysterone have hypoglycemic effects on alloxan-induced diabetes in rats or adrenaline, glucagon, and anti-insulin serum-induced hyperglycemia in mice. Ecdysterone promotes the conversion of glucose into glycogen, and certain amino acids contained in mulberry leaves can stimulate insulin secretion.

Mulberry leaf total polysaccharides also regulate the sugar metabolism of diabetic mice and promote the secretion of insulin in normal rats. In the presence of mulberry leaf methanol extract, sucrose absorption was inhibited, indicating that mulberry leaf methanol extract had an inhibitory effect on the activity of disaccharide degrading enzymes. Mulberry leaf water extract reduces the peripheral venous blood glucose content of rats, indicating that mulberry leaf water extract can inhibit the activity of maltase and lactase.

Substances such as rutin, quercetin, and quercetin in mulberry leaves can promote blood circulation, dilate blood vessels, and have a good effect in lowering blood pressure.

The DNJ, plant sterols and flavonoids contained in mulberry leaves can also help lower the cholesterol content in the blood and are also very helpful in lowering blood lipids.

2. How to take mulberry leaves

Mulberry leaves can be dried and soaked in water to drink, or they can be used directly to make soup and stir-fry, which is very flexible.

1. Mulberry leaf and wolfberry tea

Use 20 grams of wolfberry and 60 grams of fresh mulberry leaves, add appropriate amount of boiling water to boil the soup and drink it three times a day. It is very helpful for improving the symptoms of the three highs.

2. Mulberry leaf chrysanthemum tea
