What are the effects and functions of silkworm

Bombyx batryticatus, also known as heavenly worm and ginger silkworm. Because its body surface is densely covered with white hyphae and conidia, it looks like a layer of white film, hence the name. It is mainly used for convulsions, sore throat, submandibular lymphadenitis, facial nerve paralysis, skin itching and other diseases.

Bombyx batryticatus is a commonly used Chinese medicine with the effects of dispelling wind, relieving spasms, resolving phlegm and dispersing nodules. It is mostly used clinically to treat tangible lumps, such as nodules, sore throat, scrofula, wind sores and rashes. They all take advantage of their ability to spread and diffuse. It is used for headache, vertigo and convulsion caused by internal liver wind, and is often used with Gastrodia elata and whole scorpion. It is also used for wind-heat headache and skin rashes.

For treating sore throat and breathing problems, use 25 grams of white silkworm pupa (straight one with the head removed) and 50 grams of dried alum. Grind the above into fine powder. Take 15 grams each time, mix with ginger honey water, and drink it slowly at any time. For treating throat numbness, mouth ulcers, swelling and pain in cheeks, take equal parts of white silkworm (fried to remove the silk and mouth) and burdock seeds (slightly fried). Grind it into fine powder, add refined honey to make pills, 15 pills of 50 grams each. Take one pill each time, dissolve in the mouth, after meals.
