Most of the capitula are 1 cm in diameter, loose, densely covered with glandular short soft hairs, and arranged in large to medium-sized racemose cymose capitula at the ends of stems and branches; The involucre is nearly bell-shaped, with about 6 layers of bracts. The surface layer is leaf-like, long-ringed or ovate-long-ringed, with short or acuminate apex, and the back is densely covered with verrucous glandular ducts and mixed with glandular short soft hairs. The inner layer is moist membranous, linear, and the back is sparsely covered with glandular dots and short soft hairs. The female flowers are double-layered, corolla-shaped, with 3 to 4 small teeth on the eaves. Most of the flowers are tubular, Corolla light purple, with 5 shallowly fissured teeth on the rim, sparsely covered with nipple-shaped glandular dots or short soft hairs, and the ovary is sterile. Achenes are cylindrical, with 10 longitudinal ridges, sparsely covered with milky white soft hairs. The crest is milky white and easy to fall off. The flowering period is from October to February of the following year.
