How to distinguish the authenticity of snow lotus?

I believe everyone is familiar with foods like snow lotus. It grows in snow-capped mountains. The growing environment is particularly harsh and pure, so it also absorbs the essence of heaven and earth. Snow lotus is not afraid of the severe cold, so it can play a good role in dispelling cold and can treat diseases such as osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis in the elderly. However, in our daily lives, when we choose snow lotus, we also need to master some skills. Here we will teach you how to distinguish the authenticity of snow lotus.

The difference between Echeveria and Snow Lotus is that they grow at different altitudes. In fact, Echeveria is Snow Lotus, but its efficacy is inferior to Snow Lotus. In terms of appearance, Echeveria has longer stems, but other differences are not significant.

In my country's Xinjiang and Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, there are many peaks, and below the snow line grows a precious medicinal flower - snow lotus.

Snow lotus is a plant of the genus Saussurea in the Asteraceae family. Local villagers call the snow lotus distributed in the crevices of rocks at around 2,000 meters "stone lotus", and the snow lotus near the snow line above 3,000 meters "real snow lotus". Its plant is generally 15 cm to 50 cm tall, and the whole plant has a fragrance when young. The stem is thick and has fibrous residual leaf bases at the base. The leaves are densely clustered, nearly leathery, with shingles on the stems and leaves, round or oblanceolate, rectangular, sessile, and serrated on the edges. There are 10-20 flower heads, which are clustered at the top of the stem and are spherical. They are covered by more than ten large membranous bracts. The bracts are slightly transparent, light yellow-green, shaped like petals. When in full bloom, they look like a large lotus, hence the name snow lotus. It blooms from July to August and bears fruit in September.

The snow lotus has a beautiful shape and is not afraid of the severe cold. It stands proudly on the snow-capped mountains, filling the cold mountains with spring colors. Snow lotus is not tall, and its leaves appear when it emerges from the ground. It can withstand strong winds, and can retain moisture and keep out the cold. It has thick, deep, and flexible roots that are interspersed in gravel and coarse soil. It can thrive in harsh environmental conditions and can reproduce and continue its offspring.

According to research, snow lotus is a precious medicinal plant that contains volatile oils, bioalkalis, flavonoids, phenols, sugars, tannins and other ingredients. It has the functions of removing cold phlegm, strengthening yang and replenishing blood, warming the uterus and dispersing blood stasis, and treating irregular menstruation. It can treat kidney deficiency, low back pain, eliminate rheumatism, promote menstruation and activate blood circulation, etc. The whole herb of Snow Lotus is used as medicine. It is best to collect it when it blooms in July to early August. After collection, it should be placed under the strong sun to prevent the loss of volatile oil and the destruction of effective ingredients.

Snow lotus cannot be decocted in water (because it contains volatile oil). It is better to soak it in white wine. Add one kilogram of white wine to a large snow lotus and soak it for 7 days before taking it. Take twice a day, 10 ml each time. It has good therapeutic effects on rheumatoid arthritis, low back pain and leg pain.

The above are some answers to how to distinguish the authenticity of snow lotus. We should not only look at the appearance of snow lotus, but also pay attention to the smell of snow lotus and its efficacy. Therefore, it is recommended that you must choose carefully when choosing snow lotus, otherwise it will not play its role and will also bring side effects to our body.
