The height of Sichuan Achyranthes bidentata is 40~100 cm. The main root is cylindrical, with a diameter of 0.8 to 1.5 cm and a brown outer skin. The lower part of the stem is nearly cylindrical, the middle part is nearly quadrangular, sparsely covered with rough hairs, and the nodes are slightly swollen. The stalks are oval to narrow oval, 3-13 cm long, 1.5-5 cm wide, with acuminate tip, base cuneate or broad cuneate, entire, densely overlapping prostrate rough hairs above, densely growing soft hairs below;

It can also be combined with yin-nourishing and heat-clearing drugs such as Rehmannia glutinosa and Gypsum to treat swollen and painful gums, which are symptoms of yin deficiency and hyperactivity of fire. It can also treat hyperactivity of liver yang, upward movement of qi and blood, headache and dizziness, and is often used with liver-calming drugs such as magnetite, dragon bone, and oyster.
